The Firefighters Kids Camp strives to provide burn survivors ages seven to seventeen with a camp environment where kids can be kids… an environment that allows them to interact with others who have had common experiences and challenges so that they can better realize that they are not alone in their injuries. We believe in providing a camp environment that empowers our campers to challenge themselves both physically and mentally. We believe in promoting positive attitudes and fostering peer support – providing an opportunity for our campers to learn that they are capable of anything and everything they want to try.  

Camp Counselors MUST commit to participate in the entire week's program (including staff development training). We understand that many who may want to help, may not be able to commit to the entire week. In addition to our primary staff, there are several areas within our camp program that require additional "short-term" Program Support Volunteers - They include:

• Bus Chaperones (To and From Camp)

• Watercraft Owners/Operators

• Adventure Challenge Guides

• In-Camp Program Specialists

Program Support Volunteers are used to support short-term activity needs (generally a few hours or a half day) during the camp week. They assist with making our program happen. They will work with the children, but are never in direct (independent) supervision of the children.
