Now Accepting Applications for the 2021 American Burn Association Conference Scholarship!

The Firefighters Burn Institute (FFBI) is committed to funding education for medical burn team professionals and supporting burn treatment and rehabilitation research for burn unit staff to attend the 53rd Annual American Burn Association Conference in Chicago, IL April 6-9, 2021.

Each scholarship amount will be based on the need of the applicant and is intended to assist the recipient with hotel, registration and travel expenses.

The FFBI scholarship is not intended to cover the full cost of attending the ABA conference. Applicants taking an ABLS course may qualify for additional aid. All scholarship recipients will be invited to attend the ABA Firefighter’s Night as guests of the FFBI.

Should the conference move to a virtual format for 2021, all scholarship applicants must agree to attend the virtual meeting if necessary. Money paid for flights and other non-refundable funds are due back to FFBI in the event that the conference turns to a virtual format. Due to the uncertainty of travel surrounding COVID-19 FFBI highly encourages participants to purchase travel insurance or refundable flight options.

FFBI reserves the right to adjust the scholarship amount rewarded.

We will require verification of conference attendance reflecting your chosen scholarship option from each scholarship recipient after ABA that will include a post conference survey. Falsified information will result in a return of all scholarship monies awarded.

This annual meeting is the premier educational event for the entire burn care team.

The American Burn Association dedicates their efforts and resources to promoting and supporting burn-related care, prevention, education, and research. Their multidisciplinary membership enhances their ability to work toward common goals with other organizations and educational programs.
