Volunteer for FBBI
Big Day of Giving is coming! Mark your calendar – Thursday May 7, 2020 for this 24 hour giving challenge that helps affirm what we all know makes this the place we call home the best a community can be. Join us by logging onto www.bigdayofgiving.org between 12am – 11:59pm on Thursday, May 7th and give where your heart is!
The Firefighters Burn Institute is excited to participate in this national giving day and we can’t do it without you! With your help, we continue to offer programs including Firefighters Kids Camp for young burn survivors, Little Heroes Preschool Burn Camp, Youth Firesetter Intervention and burn recovery support. Your dollars also help educate burn care professionals and firefighters, purchase burn unit equipment and fund burn research.
As a Firefighters Burn Institute donor you are helping improve burn programs, prevent burn injuries, and make the recovery process a little easier for burn survivors. Your donation goes a long way in making a BIG difference in the lives of others.
Thank you in advance for your support. We could not do what we do without generous supporters like you!
Donate online at www.bigdayofgiving.org on May 7th!

Together we can Accomplish Great Things
No act of kindness, no matter how small, is a waste of time. These gestures are full of affection, appreciation, and true wisdom. They benefit the brain and connect us with others in the most complete and noble way possible.
It’s interesting that Charles Darwin has already told us about the importance of kindness in human beings. According to him, this is our strongest and most valuable instinct, the one that makes survival possible not only for humanity as a species, but also for all living beings.
Join us in touching the lives of those affected by the devastation of a burn injury. Become a part of our wonderful team of passionate, gifted volunteers who inspire others.
“At the end of the day it’s not about what you have or even what you’ve accomplished… it’s about who you’ve lifted up, who you’ve made better. It’s about what you’ve given back.”
“I wish to do Great and Wonderful, but I must start by doing the little things like they were Great and Wonderful.”
“Volunteers are the only human beings on the face of the earth who reflect this nation’s compassion, unselfish caring, patience, and just plain loving one another.”
Amazon Smile makes it easy to shop great holiday deals from the comfort of your own home. Did you know it can also be a quick’n’easy way to give back as well?
It’s not hard to do, but it does take an extra step to unlock the bonus features. The entire shopping experience is the same and most products available on amazon.com are available at Amazon Smile.
- Visit smile.amazon.com This is the hardest part! Using this address instead of the “normal” one makes your purchases eligible.
- Sign in as normal. (Don’t worry, you’re still on Amazon.)
- Choose Firefighters Burn Institute as your charity of choice. Use the search field to the right of the page to look up “Firefighters Burn Institute” from the list of possible matches. (The screens may look different depending on whether you’re already signed in or not.)
- Begin shopping! It’s really that simple!
It really adds up!
Once you’ve selected your charity, everything works the same as always. No extra cost is passed onto you, but Amazon donates 0.5% of your purchase to Firefighters Burn Institute! Want to see how your contribution is put to good use?
Become A Permanent Part Of Sacramento History with a Personal Engraved Brick!
Firefighters Burn Institute’s brick fundraiser offers a unique way to pay tribute to the memory of a loved one or companion, honor a special event or achievement, while showing your support for FFBI and the work we do for burn survivors.
The bricks will be used to pave a dedication memorial outside our office (historic Fire Station 9) honoring the late founder of FFBI, Sacramento Fire Captain Cliff Haskell. By taking part in this buy-a-brick fundraiser, your lasting commitment to the FFBI will be forever “set in stone”!
